Close to the Heart of Historic Castlemaine

Our cosy cottage studio is nestled in beautiful cottage gardens in a central location, walking distance from all the major features of this historic, central Victorian town.

Historic Castlemaine was a former gold mining town in the 1850s and is set in the agricultural district of central Victoria, located between Ballarat and Bendigo - just over an hours drive from the heart of Melbourne. As the host to many popular events, such as the Castlemaine State Festival, Castlemaine today boasts a thriving tourism industry.

Visitors are impressed by its historical architecture and Botanical Gardens which date back to 1860. You don't have to travel far to see evidence of the historic gold mines and diggings of the area. Other attractions include antiques and collectables, wineries, art galleries and museums, cycle tracks and walking trails. All this and is only 30 minutes drive from the regional commerical hub of Bendigo, an hour from Ballarat and 1 1/2hrs from Echuca.
